Neusalufta Chapter of Occoneechee Lodge #104

Summer Chapter Leadership Development Weekend

On August 25 - 27, we held our Summer Neusalufta Chapter Leadership Development Seminar at Camp Campbell. This weekend event featured a lot of fun and fellowship along with some great training.

Everyone who attended received a Chapter planbook, which included many hard-to-find documents. We had in-depth Elangomat training, leadership training, officer training, adult adviser training, and training in chapter operations.

The cost of the weekend was $20.00 which included all meals, cracker- barrels, and all training supplies. The event was opened to all Lodge brothers. We had two Wazeeyahtah arrowmen attend.... now you see what you missed by staying home and watching tv!

Brothers exploring Kerr Lake are forced to endure Laurence C's Abe Lincoln impersonation.

For fun Friday night we watched "October Skies" and Indiana Jones. We opened the waterfront on Saturday to cool off after a hard day of sessions. We swam and then cruised Kerr Lake by boat, stopping to explore an island. Saturday night we cruised out into the middle of a cove and held a midnight swim where it was deep enough to dive off the boat. Some participated in races seeing who could swim under the boat wearing their life jacket, others just floated and watched the stars. It was great fun until Ricky T started talking about Lake Placid.... pretty soon everyone was ready to go back in.

Fresh water whale Rick F lays on the beach dying after eating six hot dogs and who knows what else. He managed to write out his last will and testament in the sand.

Bruce M learns why he shouldn't have eaten that last triple-decker hamburger.
