Neusalufta Chapter of Occoneechee Lodge #104

Camp Campbell, Va.

Directions  Topographic Map  Reservations

Camp Campbell is located on the southern shore of Kerr Lake near Townsville, NC. Slowly returning to its wilderness state, this treasure was the main Occoneechee Summer Camp site from the mid 50’s to mid 60’s, and includes many "relics" from that era. Camp Campbell offers excellent boating, fishing and swimming opportunities, provided you supply your own equipment. Realize that you are responsible for your own safety! Campbell is scheduled to become Occoneechee's High Adventure Base.
Camp Campbell should be considered a 'wilderness' camping experience in that essentially no facilities are available. Bring your own water! Lake water should be boiled or filtered before use.

Directions:

Proceed North on US 1 or I-85 until you reach the Hwy 39N exit in Henderson. (On 85, this is exit 214.)
From where 39N crosses I-85, travel approximately 13.5 miles (through Williamsboro and Townsville).
Here, State Road 1356 (Rock Spring Rd.) forks off to the right (there is a stone church in the fork). Take this fork to the right.
About a mile after you cross the Virginia State Line, State Road 826 intersects from the left at the hamlet of Eppes. There are several dumpsters in the "V" of this intersection. Make the hard left onto State Road 826.
After about 150 yards, as you proceed down a hill, you will find a white gate on the right.  (If you reach the lake, you’ve gone too far.) This is the camp entrance.  Turn in, unlock the gate, and follow the road to your campsite.  Be certain to lock the gate behind you!
